Steam Explorer: Rickenbacker Woods Adventure Camp

About the Program

Rickenbacker Woods Adventure Camp is an immersive summer camp experience for 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade students intertwining enjoyable activities with educational opportunities in STEAM disciplines. By integrating hands-on learning with fun, we strive to enhance academic proficiency, nurture skill development, and ignite a passion for lifelong learning.

Through engaging adventures, participants will not only acquire knowledge but also cultivate critical thinking, creativity, teamwork, and emotional intelligence. Each day includes dedicated time for social-emotional learning (SEL), helping students build confidence, resilience, communication skills, and empathy.

Ultimately, our goal is to empower young learners to explore their interests, unlock their potential, and become enthusiastic contributors to their communities and the ever-evolving world around them.

Mandatory Family Orientation:
At Rickenbacker Woods Adventure Camp, we believe that strong partnerships between families and staff are essential to each child’s success. To ensure our program is the right fit for your child—and to create a smooth, supportive experience for everyone—we require all families to attend a mandatory orientation session before final acceptance into the camp.

What to Expect:
  • Meet the camp directors and counselors
  • Review daily routines, field trips, and safety protocols
  • Understand behavior expectations and support strategies
  • Learn about our social-emotional learning (SEL) approach
  • Get your questions answered before the summer begins!

Why It Matters: Orientation helps families and staff work as a team, sets clear expectations, and ensures we are meeting the unique needs of each camper. This also gives us the opportunity to learn more about your child and ensure they’re placed in an environment where they can thrive.  Acceptance notifications will only be sent following orientation. Details on orientation dates and times will be shared after your application is submitted.
